    Exhibition Period 2024-12-18 ~ 2024-12-29

The 16 students of Hongik University’s Department of Oriental Painting participating in the exhibition encounter and visualize the beings that they are unknowingly drawn to and ‘sing along to without knowing’ in their own worlds. Each belief does not stop at a formless concept, but is set before everyone as a fact, in a flat surface or a three-dimensional form. These beliefs become an ‘alternative fact’ in that they provide us with a unique perspective on the strange points of life that are still not resolved despite the clarification of numerous facts provided to us.

  • Moments of a moment
    Exhibitor Kelly Kim
    Exhibition Period 2024-11-01 ~ 2024-11-20
Kelly Kim, a designer who works with materials and colors, explores the experience created by hanji and space through this exhibition, beyond the material itself. Hanji does not remain as a simple material, but organically changes space by combining with light, wind, and shadow. This change leads to a conversation between the audience, space, and nature, and reminds us of fleeting moments that can easily be overlooked in everyday life. Each work contains the unique texture created by the physical properties of hanji and the production process, and this conveys to the audience the deep lingering feeling of the flow of nature.

  • A walk around our neighborhood with Poetry
Exhibitor Third-year students of Jungang Middle School and teacher Han-sol Lee
    Exhibition Period 2024-06-28 ~ 2024-07-21
Bukchon, which is crowded with tourists every day, is experiencing difficulties due to the recent 'gentrification' phenomenon, where the existing village residents are losing their places and franchise stores are opening in their place. In order to protect our precious village, the students interviewed the owners of stores that have been with Bukchon Gye-dong for a long time and expressed their feelings in a poem. We hope that you will feel the value of Bukchon and 'our neighborhood' as seen by 71 young poets, along with this book (exhibition) containing poems by all the first-year (now third-year) students of Jungang Middle School.

  • It's no use being cute
    Exhibitor Jun-yong Lee
    Exhibition Period 2024-07-27 ~ 2024-08-18
J: I saw the picture you uploaded recently. It was cute. Me: Thank you. But cuteness is useless (yet). While I was worrying about the tentative title of this exhibition, 'Knuckleball Practice', and the preface I wrote in advance because it was too boring, I suddenly remembered a conversation I had with my friend J, whom I met recently. Discussions about cuteness have already been widely conducted in various fields throughout society, and I don't know much about it. This exhibition is not trying to define what cuteness is. Therefore, I will state in advance that I am not trying to make fancy claims like 'cuteness wins' or 'cuteness saves the world'. 'Cuteness' is a phenomenon, and 'uselessness' is a judgment. I will emphasize this judgment and write about my thoughts on the process I have gone through so far.

  • Moments Dressed
    Exhibitor The Naive Side
    Exhibition Period 2024-04-19 ~ 2024-05-12
Part 1. At Play The Naive Side's designs are somewhere between curiosity and play in everyday life, and they are not standardized and sometimes playful. Perhaps such atypicality and unreality are very natural aspects of us that everyone has somewhere in their heart? Part 2. Ephemeral Echoes: Traces of Our Time The Naive Side became a host with the intention of inviting people to meet during the exhibition period, and captured the appearances of stains and traces encountered in everyday life in different materials and objects, and included the fun inspiration that stains give in the invitation. One scene of the invitation they show is filled with objects created with their own witty and emotional design language.

  • Other People's Lives
    Exhibitor Park Jeong-yoon
    Exhibition Period 2023-07-25 ~ 2023-08-06
Park Jeong-yoon has continued to work on building relationships with others and creating new worlds. This summer, she chose Bae-ryeom House as her observation location. She wants to stay in a special place, look at others, and be looked at by others. Here, the artist borrows everyday scenes that anyone would have experienced and inscribes her perspectives throughout her work. The world created this way is neither metaphysical nor difficult. Rather, it is honest and easy. Rather than searching for hidden meanings in the work, viewers only need to keep in mind the images that come to mind when looking at the work.
