Mother-of-pearl craft is a traditional Korean method of inlaying or gluing mother-of-pearl of various shapes on the surface for decorative purposes. It’s characterized by various hues of colors that change according to the angle like a jewel. Today, centuries-old mother-of-pearl crafts are gaining popularity in other countries as well, and they are displayed in museums in America and Europe.
This workshop also has a reproduction of the Joseon queen’s room decorated with classic and beautiful mother-of-pearl crafts. The workshop is particularly popular among women since it runs a program for visitors to make brooches with mother-of-pearl.
